Jewellery Care

If cared for properly, your Sugar & Vice jewellery will look its best for a long time to come! Simply follow our guidelines below.

  • Be sure to protect your jewellery from hard knocks, direct sunlight and intense heat or cold.

  • Laser cut acrylic jewellery, whilst generally hard-wearing, can snap if bent. Please be careful not to put any pressure on your acrylic jewellery!

  • Store your jewellery in individual boxes, bags or compartments so it doesn't get tangled or rub together. Storage vessels should ideally be airtight.

  • Try to avoid wearing your jewellery when cleaning or taking part in any particularly athletic activities.

  • Keep your jewellery away from harsh chemicals such as perfumes, hairsprays or nail varnish removers.

  • Never wear your jewellery whilst swimming or showering/bathing.

  • Regularly touching or rubbing your jewellery may make the metals dull or even remove plating.

  • To keep your silver plated or silvertoned metal jewellery clean and shiny, rub very gently with a silver cloth. These are available in most major supermarkets. For brass or goldtoned jewellery, use Brasso and a soft cloth.

  • In the event that a plated chain breaks or snaps, we sell replacements in store, onto which you can re-attach your charms or pendants.

If you're not confident about repairing an item yourself, please contact us and we will do our best to talk you through the process or arrange to have it returned to us for an in-house repair.
